6 SHELLS with matching cards include: cockle; turritella; trocha; scallop; moon; and, babylon shells.
The wooden chest is approximately 11cm tall x 18cm wide x 9cm deep (4.3″ x 7″ x 3.5″). It has three drawers and shell photos both on the top and the back of the chest. The top drawer holds the 6 laminated cards, and each of the two bottom drawers hold 3 shells. [See the Gallery photos attached which show these configurations.]
Children love to pull the drawers completely out of the chest, remove and inspect the shells, match them to the cards and then return them to the drawers and manipulate each drawer back into the chest. This is a language exercise that calls to children, is enticing to look at, takes little room on the shelf, and then stows easily when it’s removed for storage.
