6 SHELLS with matching cards include: cockle; turritella; trocha; scallop; moon; and, babylon shells.
The white plastic box is approximately 14cm wide x 9cm tall x 10cm deep (5.5″ x 3.5″ x 4″) and has shell photos both on top and on the side of the box. There is a well on top which holds all six cards, and there are two drawers which hold three shells each. [See the Gallery photos attached which show these configurations.]
Children love to pull the drawers completely out of the chest, take the shells out and inspect them, match them to the cards and then return them to the drawers and manipulate each drawer back into the chest. This is a language exercise that calls to children, is enticing to look at, takes little room on the shelf, and then stows easily when it’s removed for storage.
